Housing Rights in Times of Crisis: From Strasbourg to Ukraine

How do we transform the right to housing from a legal concept into a reality for millions displaced by war?Recently we co-organised a high-level workshop at the University of Strasbourg (ITI MAKErS), marking the end of Dr. Natalia Mishyna’s visiting fellowship. The discussion was a powerful reminder that housing is not just about a roof — it’s the foundation for dignity and social integration.Key points:-the French model: exploring how the logement social system can offer structural solutions for Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction.-the protection gap: addressing the urgent housing needs of Ukrainians under temporary protection in the EU.-legislative reform: moving toward a municipal-led housing policy aligned with the European Social Charter.Special thanks to the speakers from SAGE Laboratory, Palacký University Olomouc, and the Council of Europe for their invaluable expertise. The post-event brief will come soon.

Project Update – Resilient Communities: Legal Reform for Civil Self-Organization Under Martial Law

At the end of November, Dr. Natalia Mishyna was actively involved in the discussion of the Draft Law of Ukraine concerning bodies of self-organization of the population in wartime conditions. The discussion was hosted by the Parliament of Ukraine - Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine - and united the mass media and the members of the working group of this Draft Law. As a member of the working group, she played an important role in presenting and defending the legal solutions developed within the Resilient Communities project. Her interventions were grounded in both academic research and prior legislative work, including her authorship of the original draft law developed before the full-scale invasion. We view Dr. Mishyna’s participation in this Parliamentary event as a significant milestone for the project. We are looking forward the adoption of this Draft Law - so it would become a Law of Ukraine and its provisions will…

Introducing new EADHC Project within the topic ‘French Constitutional Experience for Ukraine’

We announce the launch of our fourth major project, a collective monograph titled "Public Law, Human Rights, and Decentralization in France and Ukraine: From History to European Integration."This initiative represents a pivotal step in our mission at EADHC. It is built on a shared belief in the power of comparative legal research to inform and inspire. This project is important for us for two key reasons:Bridging Legal TraditionsFirst, we aim to popularize the valuable French experience in public law and decentralization within Ukraine. The French legal tradition, with its robust framework for local governance and human rights, offers a wealth of knowledge that can be a model for Ukraine's own reform efforts. By showcasing this expertise in a comprehensive e-book, we can provide Ukrainian scholars and policymakers with accessible, relevant, and practical insights.A Timely ExchangeSecond, this project fosters a crucial dialogue by highlighting the unique Ukrainian experience for a French-speaking…

Ukrainian Women’s Perspectives on Reconstruction

Ukrainian Women’s Perspectives on Reconstruction - Lessons from European Practices. A Qualitative Study of Grassroots Insights from Across Europe. Our team has just finished something truly meaningful - the first collective project of our association. It’s called “Women Rebuilding Ukraine with European Inspiration” (#WomenRebuildingUA). This project brings together stories and ideas from Ukrainian women now living across Europe — women who have seen, lived, and learned how strong local communities work. Their insights are simple but powerful: real reconstruction starts at the community level, with trust, inclusion, and small, concrete actions. I am very proud of our team and especially grateful to everyone who shared their experience. You can read more about the project and our findings here below. Let’s keep showing that Ukraine’s future is being built not only by institutions — but also by people who care, observe, and act. 💙💛 EADHC_UawomenDownload
