Dear colleagues and partners,
As we prepare for the upcoming General Assembly of the Association “Academic Studies of Human Rights and Constitutionalism” (ÉADHC) on April 14, 2026, we are putting another vital issue on our strategic agenda: The Right to Housing.
In the current economic climate, social housing is very important of human dignity and social stability. At ÉADHC, we are looking at this through the lens of constitutional guarantees and the state’s obligations to its citizens.
Expert Insight: Our discussion is led by Alla Fedorova, a leading expert in constitutional law and human rights, who is also an expert in the legal frameworks of social housing and urban rights. She emphasizes that access to affordable housing is a prerequisite for the exercise of almost all other civil and political rights. Our President Natalia Mishyna added, that without a stable home, the right to privacy, family life, and even the right to work remain out of reach.
Ahead of our assembly in Paris, we invite you to share your expertise:
What are the most pressing legal barriers to effective social housing distribution today?
How can European human rights standards better protect tenants in the face of rising urban pressure?
Your insights will help us finalize the roadmap for this project, which aims to bridge the gap between academic research and practical legal solutions for social inclusion.
Let’s ensure that “The Right to the City” is protected by law.
Please share your thoughts in the comments or reach out to us directly.
